Many Homeopathic Doctors find it difficult to understand the English version of Materia Medicas. That’s why I have tried to translate Boerick Materia Medica in Urdu language for easy understanding. In this post I am both English and Urdu versions of Aconitum Napellus from Boerick MM. Important medical terms are written in English within brackets along with Urdu translation. ACONITUM NAPELLUS (Monkshood)
A state of fear, anxiety; anguish of mind and body. Physical and mental restlessness, fright, is the most characteristic manifestation of Aconite. Acute, sudden, and violent invasion, with fever, call for it. Does not want to be touched. Sudden and great sinking of strength. Complaints and tension caused by exposure to dry, cold weather, draught of cold air, checked perspiration, also complaints from very hot weather, especially gastro-intestinal disturbances, etc. First remedy in inflammations, inflammatory fevers. Serous membranes and muscular tissues affected markedly. Burning in internal parts; tingling, coldness and numbness. Influenza. Tension of arteries; emotional and physical mental tension explain many symptoms. When prescribing Aconite remember Aconite causes only functional disturbance, no evidence that it can produce tissue change–its action is brief and shows no periodicity. Its sphere is in the beginning of an acute disease and not to be continued after pathological change comes. In Hyperæmia, congestion notafter exudation has set in. Influenza (Influenzin).

ایکنائٹم نیپلسس (Monkshood)
خوف (Fear)، بےچینی (Anxiety) اور ذہنی و جسمانی کرب (Anguish of mind and body) کی کیفیت پائی جاتی ہے۔
جسمانی اور ذہنی بےچینی (Physical and mental restlessness) اور گھبراہٹ (Fright) اس دوا کی سب سے نمایاں خصوصیت ہے۔ اچانک، شدید اور تیز بخار (Acute, sudden, and violent fever) کی صورت میں اس کا استعمال ضروری ہے۔ مریض کو چھوئے جانا پسند نہیں ہوتا۔ اچانک کمزوری اور طاقت میں شدید کمی آ جاتی ہے- شکایات اور تناؤ (Complaints and tension) عام طور پر خشک اور سرد موسم (Dry, cold weather)، ٹھنڈی ہوا کے جھونکے (Draught of cold air)، پسینے کے رک جانے (Checked perspiration) سے پیدا ہوتے ہیں۔اسی طرح انتہائی گرم موسم (Very hot weather) میں بھی معدے اور آنتوں (Gastro-intestinal disturbances) کے مسائل پیدا ہوتے ہیں۔ یہ دوا سوزش (Inflammations) اور التہابی بخار (Inflammatory fevers) کی ابتدائی دوا ہے۔ یہ خاص طور پر سیرس جھلیوں (Serous membranes) اور پٹھوں (Muscular tissues) پر اثر ڈالتی ہے۔ اندرونی حصوں میں جلن (Burning) ہوتی ہے؛ سُن ہونا اور جھنجھناہٹ (Tingling, coldness and numbness) محسوس ہوتی ہے۔ نزلہ زکام اور انفلوئنزا (Influenza) میں بھی یہ مفید ہے۔ شریانوں کا تناؤ (Tension of arteries)، جذباتی اور جسمانی تناؤ (Emotional and physical tension) اس کے کئی علامات کو واضح کرتے ہیں۔ یاد رکھیں کہ ایکنائٹم نیپلس صرف فنکشنل خرابی (Functional disturbance) پیدا کرتا ہے، اس کی کوئی علامت ٹشوز (Tissue change) میں تبدیلی نہیں دکھاتی۔ اس کا اثر مختصر ہوتا ہے اور اس میں باقاعدگی (Periodicity) نہیں پائی جاتی۔ یہ دوا بیماری کی ابتدا میں سب سے مؤثر ہے، جب تک پیتھالوجیکل تبدیلی (Pathological change) ظاہر نہ ہو۔ ہائپریمیہ (Hyperæmia) اور کنجیشن (Congestion) میں اس کا کردار ہے لیکن اخراج (Exudation) کے بعد یہ فائدہ نہیں دیتی۔ انفلوئنزا (Influenza/Influenzin) میں بھی استعمال کی جاتی ہے۔
Mind of Aconite
Great fear, anxiety, and worry accompany every ailment, however trivial. Delirium is characterized by unhappiness, worry, fear, raving, rarely unconsciousness. Forebodings and fears. Fears death but believes that he will soon die; predicts the day. Fears the future, a crowd, crossing the street. Restlessness, tossing about. Tendency to start. Imagination acute, clairvoyance. Pains are intolerable; they drive him crazy. Music is unbearable; makes her sad (Ambra). Thinks his thoughts come from the stomach— that parts of his body are abnormally thick. Feels as if what had just been done was a dream.
ذہن (Mind)
ذہن:– شدید خوف، بےچینی (Great fear, anxiety) اور فکر ہر بیماری کے ساتھ ہوتی ہے چاہے وہ کتنی ہی معمولی کیوں نہ ہو۔ بکواس (Delirium) کی حالت اداسی، فکر، خوف اور واہی تباہی سے پہچانی جاتی ہے، لیکن شاذ و نادر ہی بےہوشی آتی ہے۔ اندیشے اور خوف (Forebodings and fears)۔ موت کا خوف (Fears death) ہوتا ہے لیکن مریض سمجھتا ہے کہ وہ جلد مر جائے گا اور دن بھی بتاتا ہے۔ مستقبل کا خوف (Fears the future)، ہجوم (Crowd) اور سڑک پار کرنے سے ڈرتا ہے۔ بےچینی (Restlessness)، کروٹیں بدلنا۔ ذرا سی آواز پر چونک جانا۔ خیالی طاقت بہت زیادہ (Imagination acute)، کشف (Clairvoyance) کی کیفیت۔ درد ناقابل برداشت، مریض کو پاگل کر دیتے ہیں۔ موسیقی ناقابل برداشت، سن کر اداس ہو جاتا ہے (Ambra)۔ مریض سوچتا ہے کہ اس کے خیالات معدہ (Stomach) سے آتے ہیں۔ جسم کے کچھ حصے غیر معمولی طور پر موٹے محسوس ہوتے ہیں۔ ایسا لگتا ہے جیسے جو کچھ ابھی کیا گیا وہ صرف خواب (Dream) تھا۔
Head
Fullness; heavy, pulsating, hot, bursting, burning undulating sensation. Intracranial pressure (Hedera Helix). Burning headache, as if brain were moved by boiling water (Indigo). Vertigo; worse on rising (Nux, Opium) and shaking head. Sensation on vertex as if hair were pulled or stood on end. Nocturnal furious delirium.
سر
بھراؤ (Fullness)؛ بھاری (Heavy)، دھڑکنے والا (Pulsating)، گرم، پھٹنے والا (Hot, Bursting)، جلن کے ساتھ لہر دار احساس۔ دماغی دباؤ (Intracranial pressure – Hedera Helix)۔ سر میں جلتا ہوا درد جیسے دماغ کو کھولتے ہوئے پانی سے ہلایا جا رہا ہو (Indigo)۔ چکر (Vertigo)؛ اٹھنے پر زیادہ (Worse on rising) اور سر ہلانے سے بڑھتا ہے۔ سر کی چوٹی پر ایسا احساس جیسے بال کھینچے جا رہے ہوں یا کھڑے ہو گئے ہوں۔ رات کے وقت شدید پاگل پن (Nocturnal furious delirium)۔
Eyes
Red, inflamed. Feel dry and hot, as if sand in them. Lids swollen, hard and red. Aversion to light. Profuse watering after exposure to dry, cold winds, reflection from snow, after extraction of cinders and other foreign bodies.
آنکھیں
سرخ اور سوجی ہوئی۔ خشک اور گرم محسوس ہوتی ہیں جیسے ان میں ریت ہو۔ پپوٹے (Lids) سوجے ہوئے، سخت اور سرخ۔ روشنی سے نفرت۔ خشک ٹھنڈی ہوا، برف کی عکاسی (Reflection from snow) یا چنگاریوں (Cinders) کے نکلنے کے بعد آنکھوں سے بہت زیادہ پانی آنا۔
Ears
Very sensitive to noises; music is unbearable. External ear hot, red, painful, swollen. Earache (Cham). Sensation as of drop of water in left ear.
کان
آوازوں کے لیے بہت زیادہ حساس (Sensitive to noises)؛ موسیقی ناقابل برداشت۔ بیرونی کان (External ear) گرم، سرخ، دردناک اور سوجا ہوا۔ کان کا درد (Earache – Chamomilla)۔ بائیں کان میں ایسا احساس جیسے پانی کا قطرہ گر رہا ہو۔
Nose
Smell acutely sensitive. Pain at root of nose. Coryza, much sneezing; throbbing in nostrils. Hemorrhage of bright red blood. Mucous membrane dry, nose stopped up; dry or with scanty watery coryza.
ناک
سونگھنے کی حس بہت تیز (Smell acutely sensitive)۔ ناک کی جڑ میں درد۔ زکام (Coryza) کے ساتھ بہت زیادہ چھینکیں؛ نتھنوں میں دھڑکن۔ روشن سرخ خون کی ناک سے خون بہنا (Hemorrhage)۔ ناک کی جھلی خشک (Mucous membrane dry)، ناک بند، یا معمولی پانی دار زکام کے ساتھ۔
Relationship
Relationship.– Acids, wine and coffee, lemonade, and acid fruits modify its action. Not indicated in malarial and low fevers or hectic and pyæmic conditions, and in inflammations when they localize themselves. Sulphur often follows it. Compare Cham and Coffea in intense pain and sleeplessness. Agrostis acts like Acon in fever and inflammations, also Spiranthes.
Complementary: Coffea; Sulph. Sulphur may be considered a chronic Aconite. Often completes a cure begun with Aconite.
Compare: Bellad; Cham; Coffea; Ferr phos.
رابطہ (Relationship):– تیزاب (Acids)، شراب (Wine)، کافی (Coffee)، لیموں پانی اور کھٹے پھل اس کے اثر کو بدل دیتے ہیں۔ یہ ملیریا اور کمزور بخار، یا پیچیدہ بخار (Hectic, Pyæmic conditions) میں کارآمد نہیں۔ اسی طرح جب سوزش کسی خاص حصے میں جم جائے تو یہ مفید نہیں۔ سلفر (Sulphur) اکثر اس کے بعد دیا جاتا ہے۔ کیموملا (Cham) اور کوفیا (Coffea) شدید درد اور بے خوابی میں قابلِ موازنہ ہیں۔ اگروسٹس (Agrostis) بخار اور سوزش میں ایکونائٹ جیسا عمل کرتا ہے؛ اسی طرح اسپیرانتھیس (Spiranthes)۔
تکمیلی دوائیں: کوفیا؛ سلفر۔ سلفر کو ایکونائٹ کا دائمی متبادل سمجھا جاتا ہے۔ اکثر وہ علاج مکمل کرتا ہے جو ایکونائٹ سے شروع کیا گیا ہو۔
موازنہ: بیلاڈونا؛ کیموملا؛ کوفیا؛ فیرم فاس۔
Aconitine.– (Heavy feeling as of lead; pains in supraorbital nerve; ice-cold sensations creep up; hydrophobia symptoms. Tinnitus aurium 3x). Tingling sensation.
اکونائٹین (Aconitine):– سیسہ جیسی بھاری کیفیت؛ آنکھ کے اوپری اعصاب (Supraorbital nerve) میں درد؛ برف جیسی ٹھنڈی لہریں اوپر کی طرف جاتی ہیں؛ ریبیز (Hydrophobia) جیسی علامات؛ کانوں میں شور (Tinnitus aurium)۔ جسم میں سنسناہٹ (Tingling sensation)۔
Aconitum Lycotonum.– Great yellow wolfsbane. (Swelling of glands; Hodgkin’s disease. Diarrhœa after eating pork. Itching of nose, eyes, anus and vulva. Skin of nose cracked; taste of blood).
اکونائٹم لائکوٹونم (Aconitum Lycotonum):– پیلا وولفزبین (Yellow Wolfsbane)۔ غدود میں سوجن؛ ہاجکن کی بیماری (Hodgkin’s disease)؛ سور کا گوشت کھانے کے بعد دست؛ ناک، آنکھ، مقعد اور شرمگاہ پر خارش؛ ناک کی جلد پھٹی ہوئی؛ منہ میں خون کا ذائقہ۔
Aconitum Cammarum.— (Headache with vertigo and tinnitus. Cataleptic symptoms. Formication of tongue, lips and face).
اکونائٹم کیمارم (Aconitum Cammarum):– سر درد چکر اور کانوں میں آواز کے ساتھ؛ کیٹیلیپسی (Cataleptic) علامات؛ زبان، ہونٹ اور چہرے پر رینگنے کا احساس (Formication)۔
Aconitum Ferox.– Indian Aconite. Rather more violent in its actions than A. napellus. It is more diuretic and less antipyretic. Valuable in cardiac dyspnœa, neuralgia, and acute gout. Dyspnœa. Must sit up. Rapid respiration. Anxiety, with suffocation from paralysis of respiratory muscles. Cheyne-Stokes breathing. Quebracho (cardiac dyspnœa). Achyranthes (Mexican drug, similar to Aconite, used in fevers, typhoid, intermittents, muscular rheumatism; strong diaphoretic). Eranthis hymnalis (Winter Aconite–acts on solar plexus, causing dyspnœa; pain in occiput and neck).
اکونائٹم فیروکس (Aconitum Ferox):– انڈین اکونائٹ۔ اکونائٹ نیپیلس (A. napellus) سے زیادہ تیز اثرات رکھتا ہے۔ زیادہ پیشاب آور (Diuretic) ہے مگر کم بخار کم کرنے والی (Antipyretic)۔ دل کی سانس کی تنگی (Cardiac dyspnoea)، اعصابی درد (Neuralgia) اور اچانک گاؤٹ (Acute gout) میں مفید۔
سانس کی تنگی، بیٹھنا لازمی، تیز سانس۔ سانس کی عضلات کے فالج سے گھبراہٹ اور گھٹن۔ چین-سٹوک (Cheyne-Stokes) سانس۔ کیوبراچو (Quebracho) دل کی سانس کی تنگی میں۔ ایکی رانتھیس (Achyranthes) میکسیکو کی دوا، اکونائٹ جیسی، بخار، ٹائیفائیڈ، وقفے وقفے کے بخار اور پٹھوں کے ریمیٹزم میں استعمال؛ بہت زیادہ پسینہ لانے والی۔ ایرانتھس ہمنالیس (Eranthis hymnalis) (ونٹر اکونائٹ) شمسی اعصاب پر اثر کر کے سانس کی تنگی پیدا کرتا ہے؛ پچھلے سر اور گردن میں درد۔
Dose
Sixth potency for sensory affections; first to third for congestive conditions. Must be repeated frequently in acute diseases. Acon is a rapid worker. In Neuralgias tincture of the root often preferable, one drop doses (poisonous), or again, the 30th according to susceptibility of patient.
خوراک (Dose)
چھٹی طاقت (Sixth potency) حسی بیماریوں (Sensory affections) کے لیے؛ پہلی سے تیسری طاقت (First to third) خون کے رکاؤ (Congestive conditions) کے لیے۔ تیز بیماریوں (Acute diseases) میں بار بار دینی چاہیے۔ ایکونائٹ (Acon) تیز اثر کرنے والی دوا ہے۔ نیورالجیا (Neuralgia) میں جڑ کا عرق (Tincture of the root) اکثر زیادہ مفید ہے، ایک قطرے کی خوراک (جو زہریلی ہے) دینا بہتر ہوتا ہے، یا پھر مریض کی حساسیت (Susceptibility of patient) کے مطابق 30ویں طاقت (30th potency) بھی دی جا سکتی ہے۔
